Ο Ανδρέας ο Βακαλιός

I was born in Budapest where I spent half of my life's summers. I studied Digital Arts (MFA) at the Athens School of Fine Arts and Informatics at TEI of Athens.

I am a Talents Sarajevo alumnus. I received the Artworks awards by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Artist Fellowship Program.

At Tripodi Studio, created with cinematographer Fili Olsefski, we do colour correction, editing, VFX, titles and posters for films.

I work as a screenwriter, an editor and a designer in Athens, Greece.
I am also an awarded film director.



With my project "17 Poisoned Englishmen" I do music and sound design in films.

My youtube MashupsGR channel consists of allegedly funny mashups of Greek and international pop culture and has 2mil+ views achieving cult status.

My short films have won awards and have participated in over 50 festivals, garnering glowing reviews.


→ My short film "Mila" (15', 2019), received the Best Film Award by the Greek Film Critics Association and Best Young Cinematographer for Fili Olsefski by the Greek Society of Cinematographers, at the International Short Film Festival in Drama, was selected at the Brussels Short Film Festival Oscars® Qualifying and 30 more international festivals with 5 more awards.
→ The essay-film "Nikos Karouzos - Poems on the tape recorder" (101', 2020), for which I co-wrote the screenplay, received Best Newcomer Award for director Yannis Karpouzis at the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival.
→ My short film "Deathcar" (12', 2018) participated in 20 international film festivals, garnering praising reviews and was bought by ERT TV.
